November Wrap-Up

Hi everybody,

December has started which means it’s finally time to listen to Christmas songs again while eating countless cookies and actually having an excuse for it 😀 But December also means that it’s time for my November Wrap-Up which is fairly small compared to the wrap-ups of the past couple of months. I only managed to read three books because I had so much to do for college. We’re already nearing the end of the semester and I have finals next months which means that things will probably not get better over the next couple of weeks. But considering that I had so much work to do, I’m actually really happy with the amount of books I’ve read because I definitely could’ve done worse 😀

But long story short, here are the three books I read in November:

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins – 5 out of 5 stars

The first book I read in November was “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins. It’s a book that had been on my TBR for ages now and I’m so glad I finally found time to read it. I’d been really excited for it and my expectations were definitely met. Paula Hawkins’ writing style was flawless and the story was very gripping. I just couldn’t put the book down anymore; I read the first half on my way to Berlin and the second half on my way back home without putting the book down even once. I would’ve never been able to foresee the ending before starting the book; it took me until page 340 to “solve the puzzle” and to know what had actually happened. If I’d read the book again, I’d probably find some clues that would point to the actual ending of the book but while reading it the first time, the ending just completely surprised me! The girl on the train is an awesome book that absolutely deserves 5 out of 5 stars!!!

Confess by Colleen Hoover – 5 out of 5 stars

My second read of November was “Confess” by Colleen Hoover and I was so, so excited for it because I absolutely love Colleen’s writing. Sometimes I’m asking myself if she is even capable of writing a book that isn’t awesome … and I think the answer is no. Confess is a beautiful book with a very gripping storyline. And once again one of Colleen’s books made me grin like an idiot before almost making me cry. She just always manages to make you fall in love with the protagonists before breaking not only their hearts but also yours. She always manages to give me all the feels and even though I hate her for always sending me on a ride on an emotional rollercoaster, I also love her for doing it because I just can’t get enough of her writing style and she can happily continue breaking my heart if it means she’s going to keep writing such amazing books! 5 out of 5 stars for this gem!

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas – 4 out of 5 stars

Yes, I finally did it. I read Throne of Glass. I feel like everyone has already read this series and I’m literally the only one left who hasn’t read all the books yet which is why I decided that it’s time to finally read the first book.

I had really high expectations for Throne of Glass because everyone has been saying such good things about it and I expected to absolutely fall in love with it. Well, long story short, I didn’t fall in love with it but I really liked it. I feel like it took me a long time to actually get into the book which is why I deducted one star. Reading the first 100 to 150 pages took me about a week and I was quite bummed about that because I thought I’d be obsessed with the book and read it within like 2 days. But I guess that was only the case because everyone’s constantly praising the series and everyone who hasn’t read it yet (if there’s even anyone left :D) just expects to immediately fall in love with it as well. And even though it took me quite some time to get into the book, I really, really liked the rest of it. It’s a very interesting novel and I love how it features such a strong and independent female protagonist. I’m definitely gonna read the second part of the series soon and if you haven’t read this book yet, you should definitely check it out! Just try to have lower expectations than I had, I’m sure it’ll help you to get into the book a little faster 😀

What books did you read last month?

I hope you’ll have an awesome December!

Nina ♥
